Under close observation of the COVID guidelines, with rising optimism however are the Rally Club Styria preparing for the most popular Rally of Austria from the 15th until the 17th of July.

The first little steps back to normal are taking place, with gastronomy, hotel industry, culture and sport, breathe a sigh of relief on the austrian population. Among local Rally organizers, the requirements regarding motorsport events are particularly closely followed. In this year´s state championship races in Freistadt, in Rebenland, in Lavanttal and in St. Veit have fallen victim to corona, the RC Styria is optimisticly facing the official relief, that the Rally Weiz 2021 will indeed carry out. Long story short: After a long year of a COVID-19 conditionally break, the organization comittee around Mario Klammer is not only already in the starting point, but the preperations are in full effect.

The run in Weiz, which has been recognized as the most popular Rally in Austria, is on the national championship calendar from July 15th - 17th. After the great first year of the historic Rally-European championship back in 2019, the international crème de la crème of Rally sportsshould be set in eastern Styria again this year. In addition, the FIA European Rally Trophy and the Austrian State Rally Championship will take place, which guarantees a top-class starting field in advance.

The demanding special stages in the midst oft he scenic beauty of Styria, the unbroken enthusiasm for motorsport of the population, the solidarity between the organizers, partner communities, and sponsors, as well as the personal commitment of every single employee at the event, and ultimately the enormous international and national interest of numerous teams and journalists make the Rally Weiz into what it is every year, namely the largest Rally festival of Austria.

Head of organisation Mario Klammer looks forward: „Of course we can not look into the Future, and the pandemic has thought us wrong so often, despite the prevailing optimism. But we the Rally Club Styria are confident that the Weiz Rally can be held in July 2021 with the necessary safety concepts. However, it is also clear that we will have to wait for the regulations on the COVID-19 pandemic that will apply in that same month. We are not yet aware of them at this point in time. Therefore, let´s prepare everything in our power to be fully ready as soon as the green light is given. Nothing here is done half speed. The Rally Weiz has stood for innovation, quality and passion for years. We want to and will definetly keep these demands at a very high level.“
